“Grandes
Apartments” are located at Kouremenos Bay in East Crete.
They took their name from the small “Grandes” islands, which
you can see at the horizon from the verandas of these apartments.
The long beach of Kouremenos offers the choice between tiny
sand and pebbles. The sea is incredibly clear, mainly sandy
at the bottom and you can enjoy your swim whatever wind
force there is since the closed bay does not allow the creation
of big waves, which may keep you from enjoying your swim.
You can reach “Grandes Apartments” either with your car
or by bus. From wherever you come, inside or outside of
Greece, you can arrive in Heraklion by boat or by plane
(daily arrivals and departures). From there, you will go
in the direction of the East, following the signs to Agios
Nikolaos and then to Sitia. When you reach Sitia, you will
take the direction of Palekastro and once in the village
you will go to Kouremenos Beach. The total distance from
Heraklion to “Grandes Apartments” is 150 km and it will
take you approximately 2 hours and 45 minutes drive. You
might also choose to come directly to Sitia from Athens
by boat or by plane (3 to 4 weekly services).
